Apenas, nos da la idea en español de terminar algún asunto y comenzar otro inmediatamente.

1. Apenas llegue el taxi saldré para del aeropuerto. / As soon as the taxi arrives, I will leave for the airport.
2. Apenas estes lista iremos al teatro. / As soon as you are ready, we will leave for the theater.
3. Regresaré a casa, apenas termine la reunión. / I will return home right after the meeting is over.
4. Visitará al médico apenas tenga oportunidad. / I will visit the doctor as soon as I have the opportunity.
5. Irá al concierto apenas salga de clases. / I will go to the concert right after I leave classes.

A pesar de, usamos en español para superar un infotunio.

1. A pesar de su infortunio, conserva la calma. / In spite of your misfortune, you are calm.
2. Iré a Europa a pesar del mal tiempo que lo asota. / I will go to Europe in spite of the bad weather.
3. Seguiré adelante a pesar de todo. / I will move forward in spite of everything.
4. A pesar de sus críticas, aprenderé otro idioma. / In spite of the critics, I will learn another language.

Dejar de, se usa en español cuando ponemos término a alguna situación.

1. Dejaron de hablar cuando comenzó la conferencia. / They quit talking when the conference started.
2. Dejó de fumar para cuidar su salud. / He quit smoking in order to take better care of his health.
3. Dejaron de jugar cuando regresaron del parque. / They quit playing when they returned from the park.
4. Dejamos de criticar cuando nos enteramos de la verdad. / We quit complaining when we found out the truth.
5. Dejó de hablar para ayudar. / He quit talking in order to help.
