- Yo iba a comer pero el teléfono sonó. / I was going to eat but the phone rang.
- Iba a la oficina pero se presentó un imprevisto. / I was going to the office but something unexpected happened.
- Ibamos al cine pero hubo un accidente. / We were going to go to the movies but there was an accident.
- Iban a estudier música en concervatorio. / They were going to study music in the conservatory.
- Iba a ir de compras esta mañana pero dormí hasta tarde. / I was going to go shopping this morning but I slept late.
- Iba a estudiar esta anoche pero me enfermé. / I was going to study last night but I got sick.
- Yo iba a descansar el viernes pero tuve que ir a la ciudad. / I was going to rest Friday but I had to go to the city.
